Get ready for more EASD tax increases!
EHA is using somke and mirrors to increase the education burdens and no increase in tax base for now anyway! The potential burden excees that of entire boro of Riegelsville--but without thie whopping tax contributions of course.
The original proposal to erect about 66% new owner occupied units has morphed via smoke and mirros to someting which could be up to 95% rental units inshort run--all of which essentially get a tax free ride--and expense of your pocketbook and mine....enjoy!
True, on paper the change is a mere 100% shift from 33% rental to 66% rental but the devil is in the details--of a program in the hands of Philadelphia promoters! Its a tax and word game and its close to a 200% shift in the wrong direction! And it is NOT a reduction in public housing its an INCREASE in total service burden in our community! They only tell you 1/2 the story--sure to eliminate 250 old units and replace them with 150 new units (at about $250,000 each) looks like a decrease--but its not--as massive more Section 8 vouchers were issued and its probably a net increase of about 100 MORE with zip more for tax base.
